A quick mini-vertical from one of the most fashionable white burgundy producers; while he makes stratospheric Grands Crus, he is possibly best known for the great success he has had from the less prestigious village of St. Aubin.

2013 Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey St. Aubin 1er Cru ‘Les Champlots’.  Just a half-notch more golden than the ’14 if you squint. Grapefruit, light popcorn.  Fresh, citrusy palate.  Fruitier style, star fruit. 

2014 Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey St. Aubin 1er Cru ‘Les Champlots’.  Silvery straw.  Explosive aromatics, popcorn, buttered nuts, toasty.  More on the palate, minerally.  It’s reticent to show much fruit, but very aromatic and flavourful no less.  Very nice.
